What are the benefits of Bartercard?
Greek Version
Bartercard facilitates improved business performance to member businesses via increased sales; from having access to Bartercard’s global member database of over 55,000 businesses. This is in addition to improved cash-flow, reduced business expenses, and reduced idle or excess stock or personnel time, and many other opportunities.

BOOST SALES

Bartercard members prefer to purchase goods and services using Bartercard Trade Euros within the Bartercard trade exchange system, as opposed to non-member suppliers who only deal in cash. This results in increased sales opportunities for members and new customers outside the normal geographic market, as Bartercard members go out of their way to buy from another Bartercard member.

BOOST YOUR CUSTOMER BASE

Bartercard introduces new member businesses to over 55,000 member trading customers who may otherwise never be exposed to this member’s goods or services.

BOOST CASH-FLOW

Members can pay for business expenses with their Bartercard Trade Euros, thereby conserving cash for unscheduled expenditures and investment into the growth of their business.

GEOGRAPHICALLY EXPAND YOUR CUSTOMER BASE

Bartercard members can cost-effectively expand their business market reach by using Bartercard’s nation-wide and global directory service, plus the global e-Commerce and Online Auction portals. All global member businesses, including over 55,000 member businesses, can access these directories and portals for trading purposes.

REDUCE ACQUISITION COSTS AND BOOST PROFIT

Members gain cash discounts equivalent to their gross margins when purchasing goods and services through the Bartercard network. An example of a 70% discount can be demonstrated by a member who sells within the Bartercard network a €100 good or service that has cost their business €30 to deliver. They receive T€100 credited to their Bartercard account for this transaction. The sale could consist of excess stock or a service delivered in idle time and may not have taken place if the member were not part of the Bartercard network. The Trade Euro credit derived from this transaction enables the member to purchase goods and services to the value of €100, but has a real cost of only €30.

REDUCE DEBT INTEREST EXPENSE

Purchasing goods and services using Bartercard Trade Euros frees up cash that many Bartercard members then use to pay down interest bearing debt burdens. In addition, Bartercard provides an interest-free line of credit.

REDUCE EXCESS STOCK/PERSONNEL TIME

By trading through Bartercard, member businesses can sell idle or excess inventory or personnel time to the expanded customer base of member businesses that are looking for opportunities to trade, rather than spend cash.

BARTERCARD HOLDS THE MEMBER'S HAND TO TRADE

A Trade Coordinator is assigned to manage relationships between members and to assist them in selling and finding deals through the Bartercard exchange.

THE POWER OF THE BARTERCARD TRADE EURO

The cost to generate the Bartercard Trade Euro is an important underlying benefit experienced by businesses worldwide.

Many fixed costs of producing goods or services are covered through cash sales, meaning that the cost of generating and fulfilling a Bartercard sale is your cost of good or service sold.

Therefore, when you purchase goods or services using Bartercard, although you pay the ticket or market price, you are actually paying for your purchase with your own inventory - which costs you wholesale. In effect, each time you spend a Trade Euro, you save whatever your mark-up profit margin is! This is the power of the Bartercard Trade Euro.

ONLINE SERVICES

Bartercard offer a range of online services to facilitate easy trading.
These include:
  • 24 hour Online Auction site
  • eMARKETplace
  • Online directory

MARKETING THROUGH BARTERCARD

Businesses often struggle with finding cash-flow to reinvest in the growth of their business. As a result, marketing efforts often fall to the bottom of the priorities list. Bartercard members can resolve this situation by using Bartercard Trade Euros within the exchange network on expenses relating to marketing activities.

Trade opportunities relating to marketing available through Bartercard members include:

  • Advertising in magazines, newspapers, radio
  • Website design and management
  • Signage: billboard, taxi, truck and mobile billboards, to mention a few of many
  • Creative services, including design and placement
  • Merchandising, including branded uniforms

Additionally, Bartercard members benefit from the services provided through membership in the Trade Exchange, including:

  • Free listing in the printed directory, which provides other members with your business’ contact details and a short description of your goods and services
  • Free listing on the international online directory, providing all 55,000 members worldwide with your business’ details
  • Bartercard stickers and tent cards to display in your business’ premises to promote the fact that you are a member of the Bartercard network
  • The Bartercard brand to be placed on collateral, to promote your membership in the Bartercard network (this can be obtained with permission from the National Office)
  • Bartercard networking functions, where you can meet other Bartercard members in a relaxed setting
  • State based member Trade Shows, where you can promote your goods and services to other Bartercard members

Combined, these initiatives allow Bartercard member businesses to expand their customer base further and market their goods and services in a cost-efficient manner.

PAY CREDITORS ON TRADE

Businesses can pay all or part of their cash debt to creditors in goods or services. If your creditor is keen to receive payment, they may be open to accepting goods or services they can use in settlement of the debt. You simply pay the Bartercard supplier on behalf of the creditor in Trade Euros and then arrange for delivery of the goods or fulfilment of the service.

Here’s how:
A leather retailer was behind in paying one of her suppliers. To keep her supplier happy, she offered a once-off payment in products or services to the same value. Fortunately the supplier required signage at the time, which they would have had to find the cash for anyway, so they were accepting of her proposal. She coordinated and paid for their signage on trade, in lieu of her outstanding invoice.

Benefits:

  • You save cash by paying your creditors in goods or services available through the Bartercard system
  • Your creditor receives payment

LINE OF CREDIT

Bartercard members receive an line of credit which allows them to make purchases immediately upon joining the Bartercard network.

The level of credit given is determined by assessment of the application and information provided.

These credit limits are reviewed regularly by Bartercard's credit department.

This line of credit enables members to continue using the Bartercard network to make purchases even during times when their cash-flow has slowed. This way, members can conserve their cash while always having access to the goods and services available through the Bartercard system.

SPONSORSHIPS / DONATIONS

Businesses can choose to sponsor events and / or donate their Bartercard Trade Euros. This is a fantastic way for businesses to practice philanthropy and / or further promote and brand their products or services while not affecting their cash-flow.
